The Warrior Within
The Warrior Within (Riztie Rabacal) A child in Grade 5 was studying in a school in a remote province. Her name was Claire Davis. Despite the challenges she faced such as being bullied by classmates and receiving unfair treatment from teachers. She was able to finish her elementary education. She had three friends: Cynthia Higgins, Jennifer Miller, and Gracia Garcia (an American-Spanish girl). Whenever they met at school, they would play and laugh together. Claire was a very kind child. One day, Cynthia’s older sister, Barbara, wished to marry a foreigner in hopes of having a better life. Cynthia was very happy, believing they now had a chance to become wealthy. She knew her sister was clever and would succeed in marrying a rich man because of her intelligence. Her friends, including Claire, were also happy for her. Cynthia : Girls, you know what? My sister Barbara said she’s going to look for a foreigner to marry. That way, our lives will improve....
